Microcurrent is a form of beauty treatment that has been around for decades

Microcurrent is a form of beauty treatment that has been around for decades. Like most things, microcurrent tends to go in and out of fashion. Microcurrent longevity as a form of skin tightening, toning and improvement is that it works and works brilliantly for such a simple treatment.

Microcurrent, as the name suggests, uses a very low electrical current that can be applied to both the face and the body. The technical explanation is of “a low frequency alternating interrupted direct current” which is measured in millionths of an amp.

As Beauty Equipment Suppliers, Elegans Health & Beauty has been building high performing microcurrent units since the 1940’s and whilst local manufacture has now ceased the units that are imported and that Elegans offers provide that same high level of performance.

Microcurrent can be used on both face and body and is used to tighten or tone or relax muscle fibre. The body which is an electric field uses the increased versatility provided by the microcurrent to treat the areas in the manner that they require. On the face it is used to reduce fine lines and tighten sagging skin, whilst on the body it firms and tones those areas that age takes its toll on.

In many cases a microcurrent treatment produces immediate improvements however to obtain the maximum benefit a course of 6 to 12 treatments are necessary together with some maintenance treatments over the ensuing year. The outcomes from a microcurrent treatment are excellent.
